This week, cannabis regulatory policy progress was made in strides.

As previously mentioned, the Bureau of Cannabis Control hosted its second set of Cannabis Advisory Committee (CAC) Subcommittee Meetings on March 1st, focused on the topics of Enforcement, Manufacturers, Microbusiness, Retailers, Cultivators, Distributors, Equity, Licensing Applications, and Public Health and Youth. The second set of meetings was a continuation of the Bureau’s February 13th meetings on the same topics and additionally, Laboratory Testing. This week’s meetings were the final opportunity to give verbal input to the Subcommittees, who will be giving their cannabis regulatory policy recommendations to the Cannabis Advisory Committee on March 15th.

In addition to the Subcommittee Meetings, a Joint Hearing: Governance and Finance and Business, Professions and Economic Development was held in Ukiah the same evening. Local and State regulators gathered to discuss and address “The First 60 Days of Proposition 64.” You can view the video of the Joint Hearing below:

The next meeting we are looking forward to is the Cannabis Advisory Committee Meeting on March 15th in Los Angeles; the Subcommittees will be giving their cannabis regulatory policy recommendations to the CAC at that time.
